This past Sunday, we celebrated International Women’s Day. What a wonderful reason to reflect on women who have made an impact on our lives, our communities, and around the world. Buzzing off such a day of inspiration, it made us think of the future. In a few years, who will our daughters, nieces and cousins be celebrating? And how can we help the young women in our lives grow and flourish in ways that also inspire others?
This conference, operating in Austin and Houston, Texas, is on a mission to help girls believe they can do whatever they desire. Their mission is to “teach self-efficacy, which is a girl’s belief in her ability to succeed.”
With chapters titled, “Confidence: Define Life on Your Own Terms” and “Awakening Your Awesomeness,” this book has advice that could apply to anyone, but is written specifically for aspirational teens with big dreams and the drive to make a difference.
This organization provides programming and after-school experiences designed to “encourage girls to take risks and master physical, intellectual, and emotional challenges.” From mentoring opportunities to leadership coaching, they have tons of resources for young girls. This chapter operates out of the Pacific Northwest, but they are connected with a larger organization that exists nationwide.
This non-profit organization focuses on high school and college-aged women who are on the cusp of big things, but might not have the resources or support system they need. With a mission focused on the power of courage, these programs help girls take on challenging situations with confidence. They are currently operating in six cities throughout the US.
Part biography, part business how-to, and fully empowering, this book is the perfect gift for future entrepreneurs.
